- Sell and help plan all catered functions, working with the Banquet Manager to execute the highest quality events
- Prepare and execute error-free event contracts
- Work with the GM and Chef to plan menus and develop themes
- Coordinate all outside vendor support such as floral, entertainment, photography, etc… as needed for the event
- Clearly communicate information to appropriate staff with the use of function sheets and providing verbal reporting at staff meetings
- Maintain organized files of invoices, contracts and communication pieces
- Work closely with other Mount Vernon departments to execute in-house events
- Develop new relationships with corporate clients and government agencies
- Minimum of four years of restaurant and/or hotel event experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate {speaking, reading and writing} in English is required; additional Spanish language skills preferred
- Position requires ability to walk and stand for long periods as well as to lift and carry up to 20 pounds regularly
