Job description
Position Description:
Responsible for delivering quality direct care services to acutely ill patients of all ages under the guidance and supervision of a licensed nurse. The CNA observes patients for changes and responses and reports to the licensed nurse. Assumes responsibility for supporting and following hospital policy and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Demonstrates support for the hospital mission/vision and commitment to our patients.
· Meets personal, hygiene and comfort needs of all patients assigned.
· Answers call lights promptly.
· Delivers effective AM/PM care.
· Administers basic treatments (as trained) in safe, correct, and timely manner.
· Pre-meal care given to patients.
· Serves and collects meal trays.
· Assists or feeds patients as needed.
· Provides supplemental feedings as indicated.
· Provides fresh water and other liquids as allowed by diet or fluid order.
· Turns patients as needed.
· Transfers and transports patients as needed.
· Assists patients up and to chair and to walk.
· Lifts patients as needed - uses Hoyer lift.
· Takes and records vital signs per routine.
· Keeps patient areas clean and neat.
· Bags and removes trash and dirty linen.
· Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education
a. Certificate in Nursing Assistance required
b. High School Diploma or Equivalent
2. Personal skills
a. Human relation skills are needed for personal interaction with other employees, patients, physicians and the general public.
b. Temperamental ability to be pleasant, cheerful, tactful, cooperative, responsible, compassionate, and courteous.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
