Hiring Wage: $14.40/hour with a $3.00/hr facility differential. HOURLY WAGE INCREASE to $15.840/hr on 7/1/2023.
Location: Lincoln Regional Center, 801 West Prospector, Lincoln NE
Schedule: 1st Shift, 7:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday
General housekeeping/custodial duties in a psychiatric hospital setting. All duties are performed on a daily/weekly/monthly cleaning schedule. Duties include care of carpeted and hard surface flooring (vacuuming, shampooing if carpeted areas; dry/wet mopping of hard surface to include buffing, floor striping/surface sealant, etc.) Trash disposal from patient and staff areas. Cleaning and disinfecting of bathrooms, cleaning of patient rooms and common use areas. Orders and refills supplies as necessary. Other general cleaning duties as necessary to maintain the cleanliness of the physical environment.
These positions are part of a team of 10 custodial/housekeeping positions that maintain environmental sanitation standards for health, safety and infection control in a licensed 285 bed psychiatric hospital comprised of 4 multiple story patient care buildings and one business occupancy administrative building (approximately 219,815 sq ft of patient care areas, and 13,519 sq ft of Administrative areas). Hospitals have the most stringent standards and regulations in relation to maintaining cleanliness of the environment where patient care services are conducted. The environmental services team performs work tasks necessary to maintain compliance with healthcare regulatory standards. These positions are an essential requirement for any hospital to maintain cleanliness and meet infection control standards but are especially so during a pandemic.
REQUIREMENTS: No specific education, training, or experience is required for entry to this class.
PREFERRED: Working knowledge and cleaning experience. Ability to be dependable and work positively in a team setting; and follow written and verbal directions.
Knowledge of: established sanitation standards and cleaning procedures. Ability to: Attend and complete three (3) weeks of New Employee Orientation to be scheduled during day shift hours. Must be at least 19 years of age with the ability to walk, stand, sit, bend, climb and descend stairs, kneel, squat, grasp, reach, and push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs. Read or comprehend and follow instructions; communicate information so others will understand; learn to operate and maintain cleaning equipment.
