Job description
UltraQuip is preparing for growth in the greater Boerne and surrounding areas. We are currently looking for enthusiastic skilled mechanics for diesel and gasoline powered equipment, heavy machinery, power generation, agriculture and aerial equipment. Mechanics will need to be able to inspect and repair all systems. The Service mechanic is responsible for providing high-quality repair service on all types of equipment in order to meet customer needs in a responsive, friendly, educated, and timely manner. Service mechanics will work with all departments to respond to the customer’s needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Troubleshoot and perform complex repairs correctly in the shop or some field repairs
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as schedule dictates
- Complete work orders in a timely manner
- Open line of communication with service manager/shop foreman
- Maintain daily truck inspection logs while keeping a clean/orderly truck and work area
- Good written & verbal communication skills needed for daily reporting
- Good computer literacy skills needed for transmitting information via email
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have strong understanding of mechanical and electrical theories and principles
- Proven history of service mechanic work on diesel and gas powered equipment
- Competency with diagnostic software programs
- Time management skills
- Able to follow policy and procedure
- Ability to work with limited supervision and a certain degree of independent judgement
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships and professionally manage difficult situations with customers and fellow employees
- Must furnish all tools suitable for repair, company will provide specialty tools if needed
- Must have a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to maneuver around/crawl under equipment in order to conduct repairs
- Ability to work safely in all weather conditions
- Must be able to properly lift and handle heavy loads up to 75 lbs
- Ability to diagnose and trouble-shoot equipment visibly and audibly'
