Pay Rate:
The Nebraska Department of Education will be implementing a new pay structure effective July 3, 2023.
$17.387/hour ($18.883/hour beginning July 3)

- Serves as the front desk representative for the Agency, receives visitors, ensures visitors comply with Agency security procedures (e.g., sign-in log, visitor passes, etc.).
- Utilizes a multi-line phone system to receive and route incoming telephone calls to the appropriate contact.
- Responds to routine inquiries from internal and external sources and provides accurate information or seeks additional information from other sources as necessary.
- Designs and develops correspondence, reports, presentations, brochures, and a variety of related documents; proofreads and edits materials; prepares forms and other materials.
- Arranges logistics for meetings and events including time, location, meals, registration, and agenda; makes travel plans and arrangements; coordinates preparation, ordering, and delivery of related materials.
- Performs administrative duties and accounting work including preparing, maintaining, and processing financial records and documents, accounts receivable and payable, and reports in the State of Nebraska accounting system.
- Develops and maintains databases, spreadsheets, and other electronic documents.
- Creates and maintains webpages for the Office of Commissioner and State Board of Education.
- Collaborates with other Office Associates to carry out clerical functions and processes in support of the department.
