Job Title: Maintenance Helper
Department: Building Maintenance
Reports To: Building Maintenance Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
General Building Maintenance Helper with experience from formwork to finish work needed at Caldwell Zoo. Responsibilities will include general maintenance of buildings, grounds, and animal enclosures and will include some concrete and other maintenance and construction work. This individual will help technicians when needed, make sure all equipment is on hand and ready to go, and make sure all tool are picked up in a secure place. You will need to be able to run small equipment, such as, concrete, saw, plate, and tamper.
Construction experience is required.
Work Environment:
Outside work in extreme heat, cold, and wetness, exposure to dirty and dusty conditions and noise, exposure to toxic and non-toxic materials and odors, vibration from equipment, constant standing, walking, stooping, bending, sitting, reaching, pushing/pulling, and handling of equipment/supplies, work with light equipment and machinery, ladders, lifting, and or carrying approximately 50 pounds, possible exposure to electrical shock, hazards of working in close contact with wild and/or exotic animals, work in groups and/or alone.
