The SouthWest Metro Intermediate District #288 has a full-time opening for a Human Resources Generalist at the Dean Lakes Education Center.

Description:
Assist the Human Resources Department in a collaborative, professional manner, primarily in the areas of recruiting and onboarding, leaves of absence and work comp, benefits, general employee maintenance activities, and being a resource to all employees.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Recruiting and Onboarding Support
- Prepare and distribute recruiting materials for all vacancies
- Process and advertise job postings for the school district
- Maintain the application system and stay current of system enhancements. Post vacancies on the District's automated recruitment system and on various recruitment sites
- Maintains accurate electronic and paper applications and employee records consistent with legal requirements and district policies
- Compose and determine correspondence and employment contracts for newly hired employees
- Monitor employment process for staff
- Attend and assist with job fairs
- Process and maintain records of criminal background screenings
- Provides a high-quality experience for every candidate from application stage to onboarding
- Maintains external job postings at university/college campuses, job boards, and other websites
- Tracks employee’s eligibility for the recruitment referral stipend
- Assist with the District’s staffing process and maintain position control
- May support the scheduling and set up of interviews and conduct phone screens
- Schedule, organize, facilitate new hire orientation
- Supports the orientation process for new employees including licensed and non-licensed staff on District benefits, policies, and procedures, as well as the operation of relevant electronic systems such as SmartER, Absence Management/Frontline, and others tools and systems
- Set up staff in various systems (Smart, PlanSource, Frontline, etc)
Leaves of Absences & Work Comp
- Communicate the leave of absence process with employees ensuring completion of necessary forms. Process and track leave of absence and other leave requests
- Support Workers Compensation process and maintain record and files.
Benefits Administration
- Assist in the enrollment for eligible staff and retiree participants in medical, dental, life, long-term disability and other benefits.
- Collaborate with payroll to ensure benefit deductions are timely and accurate.
- Verify health and dental billing statements with district insurance enrollment data to ensure accuracy of enrollment
- Maintain databases applicable to employee benefits
Employee Maintenance
- Maintain licensure lists and help monitor completion of special permissions forms
- Data entry into Smart HRIS and other employee personnel information systems for seniority lists, years of service, FTE’s, and evaluations
- Scan documents into records system
- Serve as a back-up for co-workers including payroll functions
- Maintain personnel files for current and former staff in compliance with employment and data privacy laws
- Maintain I-9 records
- Support and assist with annual Federal, State and other agency reports including STAR report and equity report
- Assists in the compilation and data entry of consent personnel action agenda items
- Inputs all appropriate information into the HRIS system ensuring documentation trail to provide historic accountability. Inputs all required information into the HRIS system to ensure that employees’ pay is exported accurately, appropriately, and timely
- Prepares reports as required by Human Resources Director
- Drafts letters and reports concerning human resources information as requested
- Submit status change notifications for hired, departing, or changing staff to notify pertinent department of position changes
- Serve as a back-up for coworkers
- Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Human Resources Management; or; Equivalent years of Experience and Education/Training will be considered in lieu of degree
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing human resources;
- Knowledge of labor agreements and their impact on payroll and human resources;
- Knowledge of office practices and procedures;
- Knowledge of computerized human resources and payroll systems;
- Ability to operate general office equipment;
- Ability to meet strict time deadlines and to prioritize work accordingly;
- Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions;
- Ability to perform work that requires close attention to detail;
- Ability to work as part of a team;
- Confidentiality;
- Outstanding social, interpersonal, telephone, customer service and teaming skills;
- Computer and internet literacy specifically with Microsoft applications and complex software;
