Investment Banking Associate, RBC Capital Markets, LLC, New York, NY:
Work closely with senior bankers to structure and lead loan and high yield transactions for leveraged buyouts, acquisition financings, recapitalizations, restructurings and re-financings. Work directly with analysts to support senior level executives in all stages of the transaction, Train and mentor junior level resources. Lead the development of pitch materials for clients across a variety of sectors that present strategic and financing views, company analysis and financing terms. Build and check financial models with sensitized capital structure and operating assumption scenarios. Work directly with senior leveraged finance and industry bankers, syndication/capital markets, internal risk teams, corporate banking, liability management, ratings advisors and other areas of the bank on internal credit processes and external client servicing. Provide support in all aspects of the due diligence and underwriting process including review of data-room documentation and third-party materials, evaluation of financial statements, historical trends and projections and diligence meetings/calls with management and other subject matter experts. Assist in the negotiation of commitment terms, covenants, and relevant credit document provisions. Prepare marketing and offering materials for leveraged loans or high yield bonds (including rating agency materials, lender and roadshow presentations, information memorandums and prospectuses). Develop quantitative techniques to inform securities investing, equities investing, pricing, or valuation of financial instruments. Develop mathematical or statistical models for risk management, asset optimization, pricing, or relative value analysis.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or a related field and 1 year of work experience. Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience in all of the following:
- Working in a Leveraged Finance Group or as Investment Professional at Private Credit Firm;
- Thorough knowledge of credit agreements and bond/indenture documentation;
- Financial modeling skills in Microsoft Office
- Financial statement analysis (ability to read and evaluate financial statements in order to determine borrower’s credit quality)
- Ability to prepare marketing materials for leveraged loans or high yield bonds
- Evaluate capital structures and build sensitized capital structure alternatives
- Conduct diligence calls with management and third-party advisors.
Certification: Must be Series 79 & 63 licensed.
Travel: International travel required up to 5%; Domestic travel required up to 5%.
The base salary for this job is $200,000 per year. This salary does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
