Job description
The Jan Companies, a large multi-concept restaurant and hospitality company, located in Cranston, RI is currently searching for a Loan Administrator.
Loan administrators provide administrative and clerical support to a loan department. They obtain loan documents and collect client information. They perform all modifications and ensure compliance to lower requirements in addition to processing fees. They compile data, gather information from various sources, prepare reports, coordinate meetings, and manage correspondence to ensure the loan department generates maximum business revenue. Loan administrators maintain a professional and healthy relationship with existing and prospective clients. They are responsible for documenting, closing, dispersing, and servicing loans that pertain to construction, small business mortgages, or commercial lending.
Loan administrators obtain the relevant documents and resolve any related issues that arise is in a timely fashion. They draft final loan documents and proofread them to ensure that they include proper terms and conditions. They also assert the loan funding decisions are taken within the assigned limits and are accountable for preparing the final loan package and reviewing the process and relevant reports. Loan administrators need a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct ongoing analysis of the loan portfolios to identify, manage and monitor credit risk trends and changes that need to be made.
- Coordinate all transfer documentation, wires, and issues for loans transferring to new servicing entities.
- Work with loan officers to obtain and keep track of any updates pertaining to each construction loan.
- Responsible for the overall quality of the residential and consumer loan portfolio and profitability of the department.
- Follow-up on requests from insureds or claimants on status of claims.
- Continually evaluate current processes and identify opportunities for increased operational efficiencies.
- Proactively respond to daily client correspondence in a quick and accurate manner.
- Ensure exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
- Communicate warranty responsibilities and standards to builders, homeowners, sales reps, and others to provide warranty guidance and/or expedite warranted repairs and minimize insurance claims.
- Analyze and reconcile reports on a monthly basis.
- Identify and implement process improvements, as well as, participating in bank wide projects that affect Mortgage and Consumer Lending.
- Provide constant updates, obtain approvals, promptly respond to requests and inquiries, and conduct follow-ups on any missing or pending documentation.
- Submit claims to carriers as well as work with insurance carriers to obtain the best claim resolution.
- Develop, propose, gain acceptance for and implement consumer lending program policy and lead activities relating to new product development with respect to consumer programs.
- Ensure appropriate legal documentation of credit transactions in compliance with company standards and approved credit terms.
- Job performance is evaluated on accuracy, timeliness, productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Keep current with changes (regulatory, etc.) and trends related to the industry and ensures lending compliance.
- Develop individualized plans for clients to help meet their financial objectives.
- Actively partners with appropriate parties to grow new loan volume in a proactive and responsible fashion.
- Exercise approval authority on new and existing credit requests as well as other operational items including exceptions and overrides. drives a consistent and balanced credit culture by manage asset quality standards with growth objectives.
- Respond to correspondence/complaints from social media, Better Business Bureau, attorneys, attorney general, etc.
- Mediate, negotiate, and facilitate solutions in complex warranty complaint cases, under minimal supervision.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in business, finance or business administration, or equivalent experience.
- Strict attention to detail and enthusiasm for collaboration.
- Advanced general ledger and spreadsheet management skills.
- Strong command of English language and good communication skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of lending and refinancing processes.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to understand, read & write in Spanish is a plus
