Current Opening is for a 20 hour/week position in Outpatient.

As a member of the Rehabilitation department, this position is responsible for the provision of Occupational therapy treatments in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. Specific duties may include hand rehab, and/or hospital-based therapy. Evaluates, plans, directs and treats all patients referred for Occupational Therapy. Assists patients to obtain maximum performance and function in society while learning to live a routine “normal” life within the constraints of their disability.

Therapist will coordinate with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists as well as other members of the medical team.

Essential Functions:

  • Documents correctly in the medical record and field chart. Identifies and acts appropriately in code situations.
  • Applies professional skills to patient care; communicates and follows through on the treatment plan.
  • Coordinates patient care with the appropriate services.
  • Conducts comprehensive evaluations.
  • Designs and implements therapy/treatment plans.
  • Operates treatment devices appropriately.
  • Provides education to families and other providers.
  • Performs a complete assessment.
  • Teaches patients in identified areas of need and evaluates response.
  • May assist patients in selecting appropriate adaptive equipment and assistive devices.

Education:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.

License/Certification:

  • Must be currently licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Washington within 6 months of hire.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare provider BLS required.

Experience:

Previous experience in outpatient or hospital setting recommended.
