Job description
Headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska, the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) employs approximately 2,300 employees as we operate nine institutions housing approximately 5,200 inmates statewide.
NDCS Procurement is seeking a new teammate to join its’ highly motivated, detail-oriented, efficiency-driven mission, which is keeping our staff and facilities safe and well-supplied. We provide procurement support to NDCS facilities by using the State of Nebraska's Payroll and Financial Center (PFC) to enter, track and receive purchase orders, and interact with NDCS Accounting and other customers (internal and external) to ensure a seamless acquisition and payment experience.

Location: Central Office Purchasing Division, 801 W. Prospector Place, Bldg. 1, Lincoln NE
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
This is a temporary position expected to last 6 months from start date.
Maintaining files, both hard copy and electronic, assisting with compliance and transparency protocols, reporting, and system research for problem resolution are vital elements for this position.
Inputting tracking information into Clothing program for processed orders as well as recorded returns from facilities. Verifying returned badge numbers and tracking single badges for their mates.
Helping with shipping and receiving of packages for Central Office area receiving quantities into stock, tracking of used processed clothing being returned to re-issue. Help with spot inventories and reconciling prior to receiving in stock shipments.
Record transactions for the Pre-service classes once NIS numbers have been established. Regular and reliable attendance is expected.
REQUIREMENTS:
Coursework/training in administrative/office support functions, procedures, and methods including the operation of personal computers and office equipment; or areas related to the programs and functions of the employing agency.
OR
Experience in customer service or public contact; or applying criteria/regulations; and/or performing administrative/office/secretarial support work including use of personal computers and office equipment.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is preferred
