Job description
- Create and maintain skilled professional relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Review and analyze all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options.
- Conduct procurement activities for TCM and liaise with all departments to ensure the right items are being ordered and that the priorities are clear to all.
- Negotiate the best deal for pricing and supply contracts.
- Prepare plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies/suppliers.
- Adhere to the company's procurement policies and procedures.
- Review, compare, analyze, and approve products and services to be purchased with the relevant department within TCM.
- Manage inventories and maintain accurate purchase and pricing records.
- Expedite deliveries to adhere to target dates and deadlines.
- Research and evaluate prospective suppliers.
- Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
- Make professional decisions in a fast-paced project and operational environment.
- Maintain records of all purchases on SharePoint.
- Develop plans for purchasing equipment, services, and supplies in different project phases in accordance with the approved budget forecast.
- Ensure that the products and supplies are of high quality and meet the business expectations.
- Maintain and update a list of Suppliers and their services, delivery times, and price and payment structure.
- Work with team members and Business Controller to complete duties as needed.
- Carry out any other tasks required.
- Bachelor’s degree or associate's degree in business administration, accounting, or related field is preferred.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policies, and systems.
- Minimum 3 years experience as a procurement officer or related position.
- Work experience in the mining industry would be advantageous.
- Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Good ability to negotiate, establish and administer contracts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
- Accurate and precise attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions.
- Ability to work well with management and staff at all levels.
- Goal-oriented and organized team player.
