- Direct supervision of about 40 employees across 1st shift in electronics assembly department.
- Maintain and enforce safe work practices.
- Select and hire employees and provide on-going performance monitoring.
- Establish and implement employee training and development programs and schedules.
- Execute company policies and procedures with respect to disciplinary policies.
- Perform resource planning requirements and scheduling of work hours and time off requests.
- Administer and maintain employee time at work records and systems.
- Receive predetermined assignments subject to a moderate level of control and review.
- Communicate daily production requirements and set targets based upon capacity.
- Plan and coordinate production order transitions and inventory transactions within the Plant between shifts and between manufacturing departments.
- Communicate production order status, warehouse daily priorities and results at frequent intervals.
- Accountable for safety, quality, customer delivery, and productivity improvement objectives.
- Lead continuous improvement projects, i.e. Kaizen events, A3 Projects.
- Understand and maintain complex manufacturing order management systems related to material movement.
- Facilitate warehousing teams toward the achievement of business and customer objectives.
- Coach and train teams in the philosophy of continuous improvement and waste reduction concepts.
- Foster an environment that instills pride and ownership by all employees.
- Evaluate employee performance on a continual basis and provide continuous performance feedback.
- Develop a motivated employee base through rewards and recognition linked to accomplishments.
- Provide leadership in the support of best practices and compliance to procedures and specifications.
- Drive engagement and teamwork through clear communication of objectives.
- Foster collaborative effort in problem solving that promotes engagement and ownership by all.
- Maintain and enhance an environment of open and honest communication.
- Maintain and enhance a culture of mutual respect and integrity at all levels of the organization.
- Interact with internal support staff in communicating and resolving production issues.
- Prepare and present operational metrics during regular order status reviews.
- Analyze warehousing labor times for variance and overall reduction opportunities.
- Analyze daily backlogs and calculate required capacity to manage order lead times.
- Develop resource plans based upon individual work cell order demand rates.
- Understand operating budgetary controls.
- Utilize problem solving tools as part of Lean Six Sigma based continuous improvement philosophy.
- Appropriately apply policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
- Bachelor's degree in Business (Management, Operations, Supply Chain, etc.) or related field of study
- 2+ years leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Working knowledge of capacity and production planning tools and techniques
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Leadership of flexible work teams
- Customer service or technical support involvement.
- SAP business system knowledge
- LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt certification
