About the Position:
Robert Madden Industries, a leading HVAC equipment and supplies distributor, is seeking a motivated engineering sales professional to join the outside sales team in our Lubbock location. The Engineering Sales person will be responsible for getting HVAC equipment selections on engineered plans; cultivating long-term relationships with design engineers and key decision makers; delivering professional equipment/technical presentations; soliciting new customers/engineers to increase demand for products by getting Basis of Design on plans; carrying out sales objectives by being the equipment experts in the market; working closely with commercial sales team members to identify, target and call on key players in the market; maintaining sales reports and forecasts.
Essential Responsibilities:
- A strong understating of HVAC systems and processes.
- Knowledge of the Commercial HVAC business segments.
- Carries out selection and sales objectives to achieve market penetration in various segments/territories to promote each product.
- Works closely with the commercial sales team and local engineers for ongoing product knowledge and to identify potential customer targets.
- Establishes and builds ongoing business relationships.
- Implements market share and account strategies as set out by management per department goals
- Implements plans and support for strategic accounts within a specified territory to exceed revenue retention/growth expectations, account profitability, and customer satisfaction/loyalty.
- Cultivates long-term relationships with key account decision-makers; develops a complete understanding of the organization's structure and key equipment selection influencers of the accounts.
- Produce selections for Plan/Spec, Design Build, Add-on / Replacement project as customers and commercial sales team request.
- Follow-up on selections and jobs provided to assigned accounts.
- Delivers professional equipment/technical presentations, utilizing product samples and PowerPoint slides to various individuals, including but not limited to cross-functional teams, engineers, contractors, etc., to advance market growth.
- Increases demand for the company's products by soliciting new customer/engineers calls;
- maintains a cycle of regularly scheduled customer calls and visits, including job site visits.
- Travels to various locations to provide ongoing training and support as requested or needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications, Attributes, Education, and Experience:

- Ability to give presentations in front of various groups. Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of computer programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Mechanical Engineering Degree (or similar degree based around a thermofluids understanding)
- HVAC knowledge is preferred but not required.
- Valid Texas Driver's License required with the ability to travel regularly (minimal nights away from home except for training and conferences)
Computer Skills:
- Excellent computer skills, including high proficiency in using MS Office with emphasis on Excel and Powerpoint.
Salary Structure:
- Base salary plus commission. Details discussed in the interview process.
