Job Summary
This job exists to ensure appropriate service levels by coordinating daily transportation operations from outbound delivery (OBD) creation to actual delivery. The position is under the AMR Solids Supply Chain Management structure.
How You Can Be the Impact
- Pursue appropriate service levels by coordinating daily transportation operations from outbound delivery (OBD) creation to actual delivery
- Facilitate or participate of periodic (daily, weekly and monthly) transportation operations review meetings to review metrics and KPIs, and to generate actions to meet targets.
- Own investigation (Root-Cause Analysis) and resolution of issues affecting the quality, cost, and service metrics.
- Perform data management through a combination of data mining, data analysis, cost/benefit analysis and/or problem analysis; while owning and executing day-to-day operational tasks related to area of responsibility
- Manage Third & Fourth Party Logistics providers (3PL and 4PL), including monitoring and evaluation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
- Ensure shipment and delivery information is readily available through the entire process for timely detecting and resolving exceptions, and for preventing late deliveries.
- Ensure proof-of-delivery (POD) and reason codes are timely and accurately captured in SABIC systems.
- Conduct root-cause-and-corrective-analysis (RCCA) relative to issues in logistics operations establishing and tracking action plans for effective resolution.
- Analyze and adjust weekly freight payment data for accuracy and potential productivity projects. Work with vendor and carriers in addressing billing issues.
- Identify, lead or support transportation cost out and productivity projects through implementation, dashboards, and corresponding metrics.
- Analyze shipments and the translation into cost per Kg or Metric Tons.
- Own resolution of issues affecting cost per Kg/MT and service metrics.
- Perform data management through a combination of data mining, data analysis, cost versus benefit analysis and/or problem analysis; while owning and executing day-to-day operational tasks related to area of responsibility.
- Assist Procurement or Managed Procurement (through 4PL) personnel with freight sourcing and negotiation.
What Matters to SABIC
- BS/BA Degree; Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or similar Degree, required. MBA or business related, desired. APICS certifications, desired. Six Sigma training and certification, desired.
- Minimum 3 years Logistics, Supply Chain Operations, experience. Logistics experience with emphasis on road transportation for full truck loads and less than truck loads.
- Experience working with ERP (SAP preferred) for order fulfillment or logistics execution.
- Prior experience working with 3rd Party Logistics providers.
