Job Summary and Qualifications
As a member of the Special Surgery Call Team, you will be on call from 7P-7A Sunday to Thursday and only work if you are called in. You are guaranteed a minimum of 80 hours for each 2-week period even if you're never called in! Must be immediately available to Medical City Fort Worth within 30 mins of being called in. Eligible for PTO and benefits like a regular full-time position. Service lines for this role include ortho, general, colorectal, bariatrics, GYN, urology, Xi robot, ENT, and kidney transplants. Experience preferred but willing to educate.
What You Will Do In This Role
You will provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed nursing staff within the RN’s scope of practice and in accordance with established policies.
You will organize, modify, evaluate, document and maintain the plan of care for surgical services patients.
You will assist in and assess Operating Room readiness: table positioning, supplies and supply availability, and equipment readiness
You will monitor treatment in the operative environment including practice of aseptic technique and maintenance of sterile fields and correction of breaks in technique for any of the team members
You will manage patient safety by implementing operative policy and procedures including patient identification, site verification, positioning and counting of sponges, instruments and sharps
What qualifications you will need:
Must be a graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
- Must have a BSN
- Must have an RN license in the State of Texas or a Compact license or ability to obtain
- Must have BLS & ACLS - AHA
- Must have a minimum of one year experience as an RN in Surgical services
This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
